Palette

I've been looking through a ton of traditional watercolour/oil painting magazines recently and decided to create a series of colour palettes based on the colour schemes of my favourite paintings. This is in preparation for beginning my entry for the Rift contest here on dA. Download for full view.

If you would like the PSD file from me, just send me a note and I'll email it to you - that way you can just grab the palette you want (since they're all on separate layers) off the sheet and pull it into whatever you're working on.

I did my best to stick mainly with colour here, and not the light/dark variations of that colour.

Two things I think are interesting - a lot of great artists use ORANGE. Crazy. And secondly, unlike a lot of the desaturated work you see here on dA, saturation is huge with top quality artists.

(And a quick suggestion to dA: stop squibbly underlining 'colour' and 'favourite' - that is how they are spelled as far as a huge portion of the world is concerned. Or is there a setting I can use to set spellcheck to ye olde English?)
